i tried to put some light in it but it just didn't work for me,it came out wrong
p.s. a shinigami is an angel of death
there are different explanations, some say they are goodand human like(like in bleach)some say they are monsterous and evil(like in death note, well i woulden't say the death note shinigami's are truly evil but they do kill people for fun so yeah evil forget i said they aint evil, they're pretty evil)

I'm going to work from the very top of the image to the bottom.

Background: Until you improve your overall drawing skills, I'd recommend not doing settings and just doing characters. Or alternatively use a program like manga studio or photoshop to convert photographs of scenery into black and white pixelated sketch-like backgrounds. The trees in this picture are not manga-style. The fluffy sheep movement with the pencil just doesn't do it. Manga style trees need to have the individual groups of leaves outlined. I recommend having a dig through some manga until you find trees and practice copying them. Pay attention to the way they are used in conjunction with a footpath and other scenery too.

The dialogue brings your drawing together. I don't know whether or not this was on purpose but the alternating style of letters and capitalization makes it eerie slightly.

Your character's hair comes out of the border, not enough so that it looks like it was on purpose in an emphasizing way, but in an unintentional-mistake way. Be careful with that

The hair itself does the fluffy sheep thing too. Manga hair has individual strands and lines which indicate the division of chunks of hair. If his hair is meant to be curly, it gets a bit more difficult. Look for guides or books on specific manga hairstyles for curly hair.

The eyebrows, good, as are the eyes and the flushed cheeks, as you improve you can explore more complex styles of eye, but this is a good start.

From what I see the nose is just a line. There are a few different way to do a nose but all include two+ lines. Please google this.

The mouth, good. I see shading in there which is great.

I think the neck is slightly too wide and if you are going to do shading on one side like you have it needs to use difinitive lines, not just light shading. Please Google male manga characters for examples of this.

The scan/photo is overall too feint, and the drawings overall lack definitive lines. For male characters it is especially important to draw definitive jawlines, not sketched on lightly.

One more thing, the facial expression does not lend well to the text. He looks bored, not like he's suffering inner turmoil like the text suggests. Please see this awesome map that got Daily Deviant for ideas about facial expression. [link]

Please don't consider this to be negative criticism, I personally just found that googling and searching for various styles and body parts and so-on helped me to personally improve my works and I hope it does for you too.
